EastEnders<\/a> spoilers follow for Tuesday\u2019s episode (14 July), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn\u2019t yet aired on TV.<\/p>\n

EastEnders\u2019 Denise Fox has received heartbreaking news<\/a> as the death of a character is announced. This week, Denise completed her month of intense chemotherapy in hospital, to treat her acute myeloid leukaemia. However, as she prepared to return home<\/a>, she was told that the treatment has not got her into the level of remission the doctors had hoped.<\/p>\n

She found out that she would be started on a different mix of drugs once she returns from her chemo break, but Denise decided to hide this bad news from her family and pretended everything was fine.<\/p>\n

In today\u2019s episode<\/a>, with Denise back in Albert Square, she started listening to a voice note from Teyana, a fellow cancer patient with whom she had made friends with while in hospital.<\/p>\n

Denise was determined to get back to normal<\/a> and take charge of the house again, but she was surprised that her family had learned how to manage themselves \u2013 with the teens making Raymond\u2019s packed lunch and Libby taking him to school.<\/p>\n

Later, Denise headed to the salon intending to get back to work. But Kim was concerned about her picking up an infection and encouraged her to go home \u2013 leaving Denise feeling useless.<\/p>\n

As she struggled to adjust to life back in Walford, Denise reunited with Ravi after his return to the Square<\/a> \u2013 and he found out about her cancer diagnosis. Ravi managed to make her smile, and she opened up about how she now feels surplus to requirements.<\/p>\n

Denise then went to her hospital appointment alone, but when she tried to pass on some balm to Teyana, she was told the tragic news that her friend had picked up an infection overnight and passed away this morning.<\/p>\n

Devastated by this news, Denise suggested to Kim that she was moving her wedding forward to September because she feared she might die soon. She ignored Libby\u2019s attempts to look after her and headed upstairs, where she listened to the remainder of Teyana\u2019s final voice note.<\/p>\n

But when Denise looked out the window, she spotted an unknown woman with Chelsea and Jordan, and Libby was forced to admit that this was Sheila, Grey\u2019s nan<\/a>. How will Denise react to this bombshell?<\/p>\n
