\n\tIt\u2019s the 30th anniversary of Montreal\u2019s storied Fantasia Festival, and the screenings at this year\u2019s edition are sure to match the excitement of a milestone year. In addition to screening some of the year\u2019s biggest festival hits, such as \u201cTeenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma,\u201d \u201cBuddy\u201d and \u201cHer Private Hell,\u201d there are plenty of brand-new visions set to be unleashed. \n\tHarrison Atkins\u2019 first feature was the strange and delightful \u201cLace Crater,\u201d in which a woman got an STD from a ghost. His follow-up, \u201cSour Minnows,\u201d seems certain to amp up the weird factor, as Ricky (David Brown) and Tepper (Chase Williamson) accidentally pierce a veil of reality and see six men licking a street. From there, things get extra-weird, including his relationship with Aura (Suzanna Son) and the pursuit of \u201cThe Yellow Thing,\u201d which comfortably wears others\u2019 skin. Only at Fantasia!<\/p>\n
\tThe Last Temptation of Becky<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Nazi-killing badass is back for the third \u201cBecky\u201d film, with this chapter helmed by \u201cThe Ranger\u201d director Jenn Wexler. This time, the vengeful Becky (Lulu Wilson) is a CIA agent and prepares to combat a key modern Nazi, played by Neil Patrick Harris. Plenty of wild kills and lunatic fun follow in this emotional battle of good vs. evil.<\/p>\n

\n\tA remake of the 2010 Guillermo del Toro-produced thriller \u201cJulia\u2019s Eyes,\u201d Shin Min-a stars as Seo-jin, a woman who is scheduled to get a corneal transplant from her twin sister in order to combat a degenerative eye disease. But she suddenly commits suicide; Seo-jin suspects it\u2019s the work of her just-released former boyfriend, who was arrested for stalking. Director Yeom Ji-ho holds together this spooky mystery.<\/p>\n

\n\tCorrin Evans\u2019s period thriller transports audiences back to late-\u201990s New York City, where a fixture of the decadent nightlife, Sayo (Jeff Wahlberg), heads to a party upstate to connect with a hot movie star (Brodie Townsend). But when Sayo gets to the party, things aren\u2019t as he expected. Expect a dreamy, sexy and unabashedly queer portrait of youth.<\/p>\n

\n\t Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein introduce a sequel to the world of their 2018 indie sci-fi hit. While the pair went Hollywood since the first movie by helming the 2025 hit horror sequel \u201cFinal Destination Bloodlines,\u201d the duo was drawn back into their own world of \u201cFreaks.\u201d In this chapter, Mary (Amanda Crew) and her daughter Chloe (Lorelei Olivia Mote) are on the run from the Abnormal Defense Force, and must do whatever they can to stay out of their grasp, all while Chloe learns how to manage her powers. While the importance of family drives the film, there are also plenty of creatively gory moments promised.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Adams Family\u2019s latest film has a higher platform after their\u00a0previous\u00a0feature,\u00a0\u201cMother of Flies,\u201d won last year\u2019s Cheval Noir Award. \u201cGlorious Dead\u201d is another family affair, with\u00a0a\u00a0sheriff (Toby Poser) and her deputy (Zelda Adams)\u00a0trying to figure out the evil that has taken over their small town.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tA bloody Christmas feature reminiscent of a lost \u201cEvil Dead\u201d chapter,\u00a0a dead grandma\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0stay down\u00a0during family time, which\u00a0leads to plenty of funny and gross-out moments. Even though\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0off-season, director Michael Gabriele\u2019s first full feature promises\u00a0to bring holiday cheer (and queasiness) to Montreal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u00a0A man captured by police for\u00a0assault\u00a0(Jiro Sato) says he can predict the\u00a0future and\u00a0starts warning police about\u00a0all\u00a0the\u00a0bombs\u00a0that are timed to go off every hour. Once they do,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0up to\u00a0a detective\u00a0(Yuki Yamada)\u00a0to figure out what is going on in Akira Nagai\u2019s feature.<\/p>\n

\n\tEarly footage of this one looks wild, as a man without a weapon is able to instantly kill people he passes by on the street, as if he\u2019s carrying a sword. Police are baffled as they see his deadly antics on CCTV and must try to catch him before he can kill more. The film is based off star Jiro Sato\u2019s web-manga, and Hideo Jojo\u2019s kinetic filmmaking will make the brief 81-minute runtime fly by.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis slick-sounding J-horror entry from director Takashi Shimizu is about a cursed tree in a haunted cemetery that unleashes nastiness on anyone who dares to disrupt it. Would you believe that, in this movie, someone messes with the tree?!?
