Economic growth slowed sharply to 4.3% in the second quarter from a year earlier, official data showed on Wednesday, missing analysts&#8217; expectations.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">&#8220;China enters the second half of the year facing a more difficult backdrop. \u200cDomestic demand remains subdued, while external headwinds are \u2060intensifying. Resilient exports have provided an important pillar of growth, but they cannot carry the economy alone,&#8221; said Sarah Tan, economist at Moody&#8217;s Analytics.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">On an annual basis, prices of both new and existing homes continued to fall across all city tiers in June, though declines narrowed in tier-one cities.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">MAJOR STIMULUS NOT LIKELY  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">Morningstar analyst Jeff Zhang said July&#8217;s Politburo meeting was not expected to \u200cdeliver major stimulus, with support likely to remain focused on city-specific measures and \u200bfavourable adjustments to the housing provident fund.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">&#8220;The government&#8217;s current approach is mainly aimed \u200bat preventing systemic risks, and the property sector is unlikely \u200bto serve as a major growth driver for the economy going forward, making large-scale policy stimulus unlikely.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">In an \u200carticle released in June, Qiushi, an official publication of \u200bthe Chinese Communist Party, called for \u200brepairing household balance sheets and stabilising the real estate market to &#8220;prevent the negative spiral of falling asset prices on consumer confidence&#8221;.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none;
