He was remembered not only as a proud GAA man, but as someone whose pride in Cork, in SuperValu P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh, and in the communities of East Cork shaped everything he touched.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Those who worked alongside him at SuperValu P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh spoke with particular emotion. It is a great gesture to give us this magnificent cup in John\u2019s honour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cHe was a great character. There was a great bit of jovial in him. The one thing about John is that there was no task too big for him.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">John\u2019s work on the SuperValu P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh naming rights sponsorship deal was singled out as one of his standout achievements.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">It was a complex, high-stakes project, but those involved said he approached it with calmness, diligence, and an understanding of what the stadium meant to Cork people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">His family spoke movingly about his love for Cork GAA. He was a regular in the premium section at SuperValu P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh, often bringing his father, Pat, along to matches.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cWe\u2019re very proud of John,\u201d his family said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cWe\u2019re very proud of everything John achieved, and we\u2019re very proud of John\u2019s association with Cork GAA.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In honour of that lifelong connection, the Mullins family presented a new trophy to the Cork County Board \u2014 a gesture described as \u201ca magnificent cup in John\u2019s honour.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/5154263_27_articleinlinemobile_GAA_20Red_20FM_20Division_203_20WINNERS_20Hurling_20League_20Final_20.jpeg\" alt=\"Cork County Board Children's Officer Donal McCarthy presents the John Mullins Trophy to Blarney captain Patrick Crowley after they defeated Ballinhassig in the RedFM Division 3 Hurling League final.
