<\/p>\nPedro Pascal appears as a passionate cellist in what has been described as his first true leading film role.<\/p>\n
The Last of Us actor, 51, stars in the upcoming feature film Behemoth! as Alex Serian, a gifted, classically trained musician who returns home to Los Angeles and the world of film scoring after travelling the world playing music.<\/p>\n
Pascal stars alongside Olivia Wilde, Eva Victor, and Will Arnett in the upcoming drama directed by The Bourne Legacy and Michael Clayton filmmaker Tony Gilroy.<\/p>\n
The newly released trailer shows Pascal as he passionately plays the cello before someone says to him: “Heard a rumour that you are back.”<\/p>\n
Pascal can be seen looking shocked as he sees Arnett’s character arguing with a woman in his house before the pair sit opposite one another.<\/p>\n
“What are you doing here?” Arnett asks.<\/p>\n

The trailer also shows Wilde standing out in the snow in a satin green dress before cutting to a number of scenes of Pascal playing his cello, throwing ashes in the sea, running through a tree-lined garden, and racing down a set of stairs in a black tuxedo.<\/p>\n
“There’s a mystic level of irony here that I need to share with you. And it all starts with you,” Arnett says to Pascal.<\/p>\n
Pascal described the film to Vanity Fair as a “love letter to music” with the Chilean-American actor appearing on the poster playing the cello with the tagline: “A life. In Pieces. Behemoth!”<\/p>\n
The role was originally set for Frankenstein star Oscar Isaac.<\/p>\n
However, he reportedly had to drop out in August last year, with Pascal recast as the lead.<\/p>\n
Gilroy told Vanity Fair: “He’s (Pascal) taking centre stage for the first time in his whole career. It’s his adventure. It’s his moment.<\/p>\n
“It’s really time for the audience to see how right they were to invest in him as a movie star.”<\/p>\n
Behemoth! is Gilroy’s first directorial feature since 2012’s The Bourne Legacy.<\/p>\n
Pascal’s film credits include 2025’s Materialists, alongside Dakota Johnson and Chris Evans, as well as The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Gladiator II, and, more recently, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu.<\/p>\n
He is also known for starring in the series The Last of Us, Game of Thrones, and Narcos.<\/p>\n
An Irish release date for Behemoth! has yet to be announced.<\/p>\n
