{"id":551278,"date":"2026-07-15T16:58:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T16:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/551278\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T16:58:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T16:58:11","slug":"monaghans-martin-mcnally-to-referee-all-ireland-sfc-final-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/551278\/","title":{"rendered":"Monaghan\u2019s Martin McNally to referee All-Ireland SFC final \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Monaghan\u2019s Martin McNally will referee the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/football-championship\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/football-championship\/\">2026 All-Ireland senior football final<\/a> between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/kerry-gaa\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/kerry-gaa\/\">Kerry<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/mayo-gaa\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/mayo-gaa\/\">Mayo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">It will be McNally\u2019s first senior decider to officiate and his 32nd senior intercounty championship game since taking charge of his first fixture in the summer of 2018.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">He will be the second Corduff clubman to referee an All-Ireland senior decider, following in the footsteps of Pat McEnaney (1996, draw and replay, 2000, 2004)<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">McNally refereed this year\u2019s All-Ireland club senior football final when Dingle of Kerry beat St Brigid\u2019s from Roscommon at Croke Park in January. He was also the man in the middle for the 2023 All-Ireland under-20 decider when Kildare beat Sligo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">He has also officiated Leinster football finals in 2021 and 2025, and the Ulster decider in 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In this year\u2019s championship, McNally refereed Louth v Wexford and Kildare v Westmeath in the Leinster SFC, along with the All-Ireland series games involving Armagh v Derry, Dublin v Donegal and the All-Ireland quarter-final between Mayo and Cork.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">His score umpires on the day will be Ben Woods, Niall Reilly, Mark Gilsenan and Anthony Marron all from the Corduff club in Monaghan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">His line umpires on the day will be Tyrone\u2019s Sean Hurson and Galway\u2019s Thomas Murphy. Hurson will be the standby referee, and the sideline official will be Sean Lonergan from Tipperary. Killan Jones from Kildare will be the Hawkeye official.
