{"id":551376,"date":"2026-07-15T18:24:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T18:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/551376\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T18:24:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T18:24:08","slug":"i-play-rocky-tells-the-true-story-behind-a-classic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/551376\/","title":{"rendered":"I Play Rocky tells the true story behind a classic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first trailer for the new biopic I Play Rocky has been released with Anthony Ippolito portraying Sylvester Stallone in the story of how a struggling actor brought a classic to the big screen.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Peter Farrelly (Green Book), I Play Rocky will be released later this year in time for the 50th anniversary of Rocky.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Told &#8216;no&#8217; at every turn, Stallone bets everything on himself, holding the line on playing the lead against seemingly impossible odds,&#8221; says the synopsis for I Play Rocky.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The result is the ultimate underdog story behind the ultimate underdog movie.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/OnThisDay\" rel=\"nofollow\">#OnThisDay<\/a> 1977 Rocky premiered in New York. A few weeks later, Sylvester Stallone explained why he thought it was such a successful movie.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At the time&#8230;cinema was anti-everything.
