It was a moment that captured the bond between team and supporters.<\/p>\n
Sensing his players needed one final push, John Kiely turned to the Limerick crowd at Croke Park and urged them to make themselves heard.<\/p>\n
The response was instant, with a wall of sound helping drive the Treaty men into another All-Ireland hurling final.<\/p>\n
“They were so wrapped in the game, they forgot to do their job,” the Limerick hurling manager said in a post-match interview.<\/p>\n
“You have a job to do. You have something to do. You can contribute.”<\/p>\n
He credits the supporters for shouting on “every block, every hook, every catch” in the last seven minutes of the semi-final against Clare.<\/p>\n

Eight years on from their memorable 2018 triumph over Galway, Limerick are back in the decider for the sixth time and Limerick supporters are ready to do their job.<\/p>\n
Excitement was building at the C\u00fal Camp in Ahane GAA Club this week.<\/p>\n
The 200 children taking part have grown up during Limerick’s most successful period in generations, with regular trips to All-Ireland finals becoming the norm.<\/p>\n
“I’ll do my job on Sunday and you be doing your job, John Kiely” said 10-year-old camogie player, Patsy Power.<\/p>\n
Gearoid Hegarty, Cian Lynch and Diarmuid Byrnes are some of the favourite players among the young fans in Ahane.<\/p>\n
However, it is Tom and Dan Morrissey who get top billing.<\/p>\n

Ahane is celebrating its centenary year, and the brothers will give the club another reason to be proud.<\/p>\n
Their father and club chairman, Donal Morrissey, is not underestimating the Galway opposition.<\/p>\n
“I think the Galway team have a very similar profile to the Limerick team in 2018. They’re a team that you’re going to fear a little bit.<\/p>\n
You’re going to give them a lot of respect. It won’t be an easy game on the day and I think it will go down to the wire,” he said.<\/p>\n
“John Kiely will definitely be turning around to the crowd and urging them to get behind the team,” Donal Morrissey added.<\/p>\n
Limerick has enjoyed success at underage level already this year.<\/p>\n
The Treaty county snatched Electric Ireland All-Ireland minor hurling glory for the first time in 42 years with a 1-01 stoppage-time salvo to pip Tipperary in TUS Gaelic Grounds.<\/p>\n
Monaleen clubman Conor Ryan said the Limerick hurling supporters played a key role in securing that victory.<\/p>\n
“They’re like a substitute coming on and scoring a goal,” he said.<\/p>\n
“When the crowd gets up and active, it’s like nothing else really. You just know they’re behind you. It’s like having a family member telling you, you’re doing well. It’s just lovely.”<\/p>\n
Hopes are high that the senior side can follow the example set by Limerick’s minor hurlers.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, the Treaty county renews its rivalry with Galway in the All-Ireland final.<\/p>\n
