Phinia will make its debut at Farnborough International Airshow this week, showcasing aerospace manufacturing capabilities it has expanded across Europe.<\/p>\n
The \u00a0fuel and electrical systems supplier\u00a0has secured two new aerospace customer programs and is investing in engineering and manufacturing capacity in the UK and France. Its engineering center in Blois, France, is its first site certified to support aerospace programs, while its facilities in Gillingham and Stonehouse in the UK have certification planned for the fourth quarter of 2026 ahead of customer program launches.<\/p>\n
At Farnborough, Phinia will highlight its ability to support customers from early-stage engineering and prototype development through qualification, industrialization and full-scale production, supplying both original equipment and service parts. The company said this end-to-end approach is underpinned by expertise in precision manufacturing, including micron-level machining, flow control technologies and production processes developed over decades of supplying components to other industries.<\/p>\n
These capabilities include electrical discharge machining (EDM), electrochemical machining (ECM), precision grinding, advanced coatings and femtosecond laser machining, a technology Phinia said is generating growing interest among aerospace customers.<\/p>\n
Phinia has used femtosecond laser technologies in production for more than a decade, enabling precise cutting and drilling without introducing heat distortion, burrs or material damage. The company said it is also seeing interest in its laser welding capabilities, which offer high-strength, repeatable joins with minimal thermal impact.<\/p>\n
Phinia has secured EN9100 aerospace certification and launched two aerospace programs, building on its participation at AeroEngines Americas earlier this year. \u201cOur strength lies in taking proven technologies, engineering expertise, and manufacturing capabilities and applying them to new challenges,\u201d Todd Anderson, vice president and chief technology officer at Phinia said. \u201cThe capabilities we\u2019ve developed over many years in fuel systems and advanced manufacturing are highly transferable, creating opportunities as we continue to expand our presence in aerospace and defense.\u201d<\/p>\n
