{"id":553090,"date":"2026-07-16T18:00:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T18:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/553090\/"},"modified":"2026-07-16T18:00:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T18:00:08","slug":"fortnite-adds-the-odyssey-skins-for-odysseus-and-agamemnon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/553090\/","title":{"rendered":"Fortnite Adds &#8216;The Odyssey&#8217; Skins for Odysseus and Agamemnon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFornite players can play as Matt Damon\u2019s Odysseus from Christopher Nolan\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/the-odyssey\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-odyssey\" data-tag=\"the-odyssey\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Odyssey<\/a>,\u201d Epic Games announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tEarlier this week, the company teased a short clip on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Fortnite\/status\/2077377975172153394?s=20\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Fortnite\/status\/2077377975172153394?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">its official X account<\/a> showing Odysseus walking through a massive hallway lined with towering statues, captioned with the line \u201csome say each game is an epic journey of its own.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tPlayers will be able to compete in the Solo Odyssey Cup in <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/battle-royale\/\" id=\"auto-tag_battle-royale\" data-tag=\"battle-royale\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Battle Royale<\/a> and Zero Build; top performers will receive the Odysseus Outfit. The Cup challenge ends on July 16.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOdysseus is designed to reflect Damon\u2019s portrayal of the character from Christopher Nolan\u2019s film. The outfit includes an alternate style with his helmet, as well as Odysseus\u2019 bow back bling and Odysseus\u2019 sword pickaxe. The Agamemnon skin reflects Benny Safdie\u2019s role with his shield back bling and sword pickaxe<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFor players unable to participate in the Cup Challenge, the Odysseus skins can be directly purchased from the item shop starting July 17 at 8 p.m. ET, timed to coincide with \u201cThe Odyssey\u2019s\u201d theatrical release.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/wp-content\/themes\/pmc-variety-2020\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Fortnite-_-The-Odyssey-Key-Art-IG-Carousel.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"1024\" width=\"819\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tNolan\u2019s film brings Homer\u2019s classic tale to life. Damon stars as the titular seafaring hero. The film also stars Anne Hathaway as Odysseus\u2019 wife, Penelope; Tom Holland as their son, Telemachus; Pattinson as the Ithacan suitor, Antinous; Zendaya as goddess of wisdom, Athena; and Charlize Theron as goddess of witchcraft, Circe. The enormous cast also includes Lupita Nyong\u2019o, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, Jimmy Gonzales and Elliot Page.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThe Odyssey\u201d is Nolan\u2019s 13th directorial feature film. He wrote the screenplay based on the ancient poem and produced it alongside Emma Thomas under their production company Syncopy.
