{"id":553596,"date":"2026-07-17T00:50:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T00:50:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/553596\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T00:50:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T00:50:16","slug":"they-will-be-lethal-donegal-heatwave-leaves-countys-roads-melting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/553596\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;They will be lethal&#8217;: Donegal heatwave leaves county&#8217;s roads melting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The scorching temperatures experienced in Donegal of late is posing a headache for the roads department of Donegal County Council.<\/p>\n<p>Some road surfaces are being affected as the sun beats red-hot rays on the county\u2019s highways and byways.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Cathaoirleach of the Donegal MD, Councillor Jimmy Brogan, said that the road surface is \u201ccoming up in a lot of places\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe chips are down, the tar is up and it will leave the roads in a serious condition when it finishes,\u201d Councillor Brogan told the July meeting of the Donegal MD.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a marble-like surface on roads and it seems like it just on the back roads.
