Seth Meyers took aim at Donald Trump\u2019s bizarre priorities and obsessions as many Americans continue to struggle with rising costs.<\/p>\n
On Late Night, the host said that despite the failing US economy, the president is instead \u201claser-focused\u201d on \u201cimportant stuff\u201d such as \u201cmagnetic catapults and sperm counts\u201d.<\/p>\n
He replayed footage of Trump during his 2024 campaign where he promised to end inflation and lower the cost of gas and groceries, all of which he has failed at.<\/p>\n
Instead, Meyers joked that he has been bringing germs back \u201cvery strongly\u201d with the outbreak of the much-publicised explosive diarrhea virus.<\/p>\n
Meyers pointed out that the way that Trump brings up groceries suggests that \u201che just found out about groceries\u201d and after he got into office, \u201chis collection of internet-poisoned weirdos got obsessed with weird shit\u201d rather than the important issues.<\/p>\n
He reminded viewers of how the health secretary, Robert F Kennedy Jr, lectured anyone and everyone about the low sperm count of teenagers. \u201cIs there an erotic fiction section in AARP magazine?\u201d he asked, before also asking: \u201cAre you a gym teacher subbing in for health class?\u201d<\/p>\n
He said it was all revealed to be \u201cnonsense\u201d as a study showed that there was no cause for panic.<\/p>\n
Meyers moved on to the defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, who \u201cdoesn\u2019t have much else going on\u201d so has decided to focus on testosterone levels in the military which he now wants checked annually.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat about the war in Iran?\u201d he asked. \u201cIs testosterone gonna fix the war in Iran?\u201d<\/p>\n
He called it all \u201cinsane\u201d as the war has \u201cno end in sight\u201d but then moved on to Trump and his \u201cvery sane, very normal\u201d obsession with aircraft carriers.<\/p>\n
Footage from a press conference this week saw the president rage about wet magnets and the use of electric catapults rather than steam ones, \u201ca long-running obsession for Trump\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve never seen someone get this worked up about a fucking magnet,\u201d Meyers said<\/p>\n
He also doubted whether getting magnets wet would lead to any sort of problem. \u201cYou\u2019re thinking of cellphones or gremlins,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meyers added: \u201cYou might want Pete Hegseth to check your testosterone levels.\u201d<\/p>\n
This week has also seen reports that a teleprompter operator in the White House has made $100,000 on Kalshi betting on Trump speeches. \u201cEveryone\u2019s getting their grift on in the Trump White House!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He then criticised the \u201cpointless and costly war\u201d and despite Trump saying that there was a deal no fewer than 38 times, there is still no deal.<\/p>\n
\u201cSend RFK Jr in there to talk about sperm counts and they\u2019ll surrender in like five minutes,\u201d he suggested.<\/p>\n
