Coronation Street<\/a> star Beverley Callard has shared a positive milestone in her cancer treatment. The star was diagnosed with breast cancer<\/a> earlier this year, and has been sharing updates with fans over the past few months.<\/p>\n

Back in May, she told followers that she would be beginning radiotherapy<\/a> after having three lymph nodes removed<\/a>, and has now confirmed that she has finished the treatment after 10 sessions.<\/p>\n

“I’ve done it,” she began in an Instagram<\/a> video. “I’ve just finished my last radiotherapy session. Fingers crossed.”<\/p>\n

She continued: “Yep, that was number 10 for me and lots of people have to have lots more, I know that, but for now that’s finished. Hopefully, don’t know for sure, but hopefully I won’t need any more.”<\/p>\n

After her husband Jon McEwan could be heard off screen encouraging a positive mindset, the Liz McDonald actor added: “I know positive thinking. Yes definitely.<\/p>\n

“To be honest, I feel a bit numb because yesterday, I really struggled, but today’ I’ve been fine. Now I’ve got to see the professor again in two months and then I’ll know a lot more, and mammograms and oncologists and all that.<\/p>\n

“But radiotherapy is finished for now, so I’m really thrilled. I’m not gonna celebrate tonight, we’re too tired, we can’t be bothered. I’m gonna put scruffy clothes on and just sit and watch TV with a cup of tea.”<\/p>\n

In the comments, she wrote: “And that\u2019s a wrap on radiotherapy! 10 sessions over and done with! Lots more appointments down the line but for now\u2026I\u2019m so happy for it to be over! Celebrating with a cuppa on the sofa.”<\/p>\n

Many shared supportive comments, one follower writing: “Well done you’re so strong and inspiring just relax and enjoy the soaps.”<\/p>\n

“So happy for you Beverley. You are so strong and have Jon by your side for support. Wishing you well in your journey ahead,” another added, a third sharing: “Woop woop enjoy the TV and a cuppa sending you lots of love your amazing.”<\/p>\n

Beverley has been receiving treatment in Ireland after moving to the country to film soap Fair City.<\/p>\n
