{"id":556025,"date":"2026-07-18T12:21:34","date_gmt":"2026-07-18T12:21:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/556025\/"},"modified":"2026-07-18T12:21:34","modified_gmt":"2026-07-18T12:21:34","slug":"koreas-exports-of-k-pop-albums-hit-record-high-of-257-48-mil-in-first-half-of-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/556025\/","title":{"rendered":"Korea&#8217;s exports of K-pop albums hit record high of $257.48 mil. in first half of year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/0a8c3db6-d800-49c1-9151-f091b2c49a24.jpeg\" style=\"height: auto; aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1280; width: 100%\" alt=\"BTS \/ Courtesy of BigHit Music\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"eager\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>BTS \/ Courtesy of BigHit Music<\/p>\n<p class=\"editor-p\">Korea&#8217;s exports of K-pop albums hit a record high in the first half of the year, government data showed Friday, driven in part by BTS&#8217; fifth studio album, &#8220;ARIRANG.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"editor-p\">K-pop album exports reached $257.48 million in the January-June period, up 125 percent from a year earlier, according to import and export trade statistics from the Korea Customs Service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"editor-p\">The United States was the largest importer of K-pop albums during the period, with imports totaling $74.12 million, followed by China and Japan at $61.18 million and $45.61 million, respectively.<\/p>\n<p class=\"editor-p\">Rounding out the top 10 were Germany, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Britain, France and Poland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"editor-p\">BTS, one of the world&#8217;s top boy bands, released its first new album in three years and nine months in March.
