Crunchyroll<\/a> revealed on Friday that it will begin streaming the first two English-dubbed episodes for Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia<\/a>, the television anime<\/a> of Tomato Soup<\/a>‘s A Witch’s Life in Mongol<\/a> (Tenmaku no J\u0101d\u016bgar) manga, on Saturday.<\/p>\n The English cast includes:\n<\/p>\n The dub<\/a> staff at Crunchyroll includes:\n<\/p>\n Yen Press<\/a> is releasing the manga in English, and it describes the story:<\/p>\n \tThe time: the thirteenth century. The place: Yeke Mongol Ulus, the greatest empire the world has ever known. The woman: Fatima, hailing from Persia, where medical technique and scientific knowledge have been perfected beyond all precedent. Fatima’s desire for a stage where she can put her knowledge to work has brought her to the palace of the Mongols, where she falls under the wing of T\u00f6regene, the sixth wife of \u00d6gedei, the second Great Khan\u2014a mighty woman with complicated feelings about the direction of the empire. These two women are the axel upon which the politics of the palace, and soon the very world, will turn…<\/p>\n Naoko Yamada<\/a> (The Heike Story<\/a>, A Silent Voice<\/a>, The Colors Within<\/a>) is serving as chief director, and Abel G\u00f3ngora<\/a> (DAN DA DAN<\/a> season 2, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off<\/a>, Star Wars: Visions<\/a>‘ “TO-B1”) is directing the anime at Science SARU<\/a>. Kenichi Yoshida<\/a> (Eureka Seven<\/a>, Gundam: Reconguista in G<\/a>) is designing the characters and serving as animation chief, and Kanichi Kat\u014d<\/a> (Black Clover<\/a>, The Eminence in Shadow<\/a>) is overseeing the series scripts. K\u014dshir\u014d Hino<\/a> is composing the music. <\/p>\n Additional staff includes:<\/p>\n SEKAI NO OWARI<\/a> perform the opening theme song “Stella,” and Queen Bee<\/a> performs the ending theme song “Hoshi” (Star).<\/p>\n The anime premiered on July 4 at 11:00 p.m. JST (10:00 a.m. EDT) in the “IMAnimation W” programming block on TV Asahi<\/a> and 23 of its affiliated channels, as well as on BS Asahi<\/a>. The anime premiered with its first two episodes as a one-hour special. Crunchyroll streams<\/a> the anime as it airs.<\/p>\n The anime had its world premiere screening<\/a> of the first 3 episodes on June 13 at United Cinemas<\/a> Aqua City Odaiba. The anime screened<\/a> in competition at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France in the TV Films category. Anime Expo<\/a> also hosted<\/a> the U.S. premiere screening of the anime on July 3.<\/p>\n Tomato Soup launched<\/a> the manga on Akita Shoten<\/a>‘s Souffle<\/a> website in September 2021. Akita Shoten published the manga’s sixth compiled book volume on Wednesday.<\/p>\n The series began publishing simultaneously<\/a> in Akita Shoten’s Mystery Bonita<\/a> magazine in March 2025, on top of its publication on the Souffle website. The manga was being published<\/a> bimonthly until last summer, where it then went on hiatus for Tomato Soup’s maternity leave. The manga returned<\/a> on March 25.<\/p>\n The manga topped<\/a> the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023 rankings for female readers, and ranked<\/a> #11 in the 2024 rankings for female readers. The manga was nominated<\/a> for the 16th Manga Taisho Awards in 2023, and was nominated<\/a> once again for the Manga Taisho Awards the following year in 2024. The manga was nominated<\/a> for the Best New Manga category in the second American Manga Awards. The manga recently won<\/a> the grand prize in the Comic division of the 55th Japan Cartoonists Association Awards.<\/p>\n
