Liverpool<\/a> are about to complete a deal for Samuel Martinez, with the Colombian midfielder set to undergo a medical imminently, according to two reliable journalists.<\/p>\n

It was back in May that it emerged that Liverpool were going to sign Martinez from Atletico Nacional<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano wrote on\u00a0X<\/a>\u00a0at 2:52pm on May 22: \u201cLiverpool agree deal to sign Samuel Mart\u00ednez from Atletico Nacional, here we go!<\/p>\n

\u201cDeal in place for 17 year old Colombian talent to join in 2027, as soon as he turns 18. #LFC anticipate Borussia Dortmund, as @PSierraR revealed.<\/p>\n

\u201cAgreement closed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reliable Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, who has over 187,000 followers on X,\u00a0reported that an agreement between all three parties had been finalised.<\/p>\n

Sierra wrote on X at 1:56pm on May 22: \u201cExclusive: Samuel Mart\u00ednez (17) is just a few details away from becoming a new #Liverpool player.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey reached an agreement for him to become the new talent of the \u2018reds\u2019 for 1M$ and sign for 5 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are advancing in the final documentation after outbidding other European giants<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Colombian will stay at #Atl\u00e9ticoNacional until he reaches the age of majority.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe \u2018verdolaga\u2019 will retain % of future sale\u201d<\/p>\n

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg noted on\u00a0X\u00a0at 6:11pm on May 25: \u201cSamuel Mart\u00ednez to Liverpool is a done deal, as reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cNext steps: visa process and trip to England for medical examinations.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfterwards, he will sign a five-year contract. #LFC<\/p>\n

\u201cThe general plan \u2013 depending on wildcard regulations \u2013 is for him to join first-team pre-season from next summer onwards, with his first year planned between Liverpool U21 and the U19 Youth League. @SkySportDE.\u201d<\/p>\n

Martinez is just 17 at the moment, so he cannot officially move to Liverpool<\/a> until he turns 18 in April 2027.<\/p>\n

However, that has not stopped Liverpool, who have appointed Andoni Iraola as their new manager, from booking a medical for the Colombian attacking midfielder and agreeing on a deal now.<\/p>\n

Samuel Martinez to undergo Liverpool medical<\/p>\n

Plettenberg reported on X<\/a> at 2:20pm on July 18: \u201cSamuel Mart\u00ednez is on his way to Liverpool to undergo his medical.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere with his agent Daniel Neum\u00fcller.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 17 y\/o top talented midfielder will join Liverpool from Atl\u00e9tico Nacional in a deal worth $1 million, plus a sell-on clause.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter completing his medical, Mart\u00ednez will sign a five-year contract.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe will officially join #LFC next year after turning 18 on 5 April.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sierra posted on X<\/a> at 1:35pm on July 18: \u201cAt this hour, Samuel Mart\u00ednez (17) is traveling to the United Kingdom along with his family and his agent, Daniel Neum\u00fcller, to undergo medical exams with #Liverpool.<\/p>\n
