{"id":557395,"date":"2026-07-19T12:01:30","date_gmt":"2026-07-19T12:01:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/557395\/"},"modified":"2026-07-19T12:01:30","modified_gmt":"2026-07-19T12:01:30","slug":"york-space-readies-21-satellites-for-us-space-development-agency-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/557395\/","title":{"rendered":"York Space Readies 21 Satellites for US Space Development Agency Launch\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/dronefront.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">&#13;<br \/>\n    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WhatsAppVideo2026-05-15at09.23.58.gif\" alt=\"The Drone Front\" width=\"1280\" height=\"539\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">York Space Systems has <a href=\"https:\/\/ir.yorkspacesystems.com\/news\/news-details\/2026\/York-Space-Systems-Second-Tactical-Communications-Satellite-Lot-Ready-for-Launch\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">completed<\/a> a second batch of 21 satellites for the US Space Development Agency (SDA), with the spacecraft scheduled for launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Built at York\u2019s US production facilities, the satellites are designed to expand the SDA\u2019s low Earth orbit communications network and provide secure tactical data links for US and allied forces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">York said the production lot reflects investments in manufacturing capacity intended to support higher-volume spacecraft production for national security programs.<\/p>\n<p>Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The satellites are being delivered for the SDA\u2019s Tranche 1 Transport Layer, a component of the broader Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The PWSA is a planned constellation of hundreds of small satellites designed to provide low-latency communications, missile tracking, and data sharing across military platforms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within the PWSA, the Transport Layer serves as the communications backbone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It relays data between sensors and command centers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The information is then shared with forces operating on land, at sea, in the air, and in space.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">York said it is the first contractor participating in the SDA\u2019s Tranche 1 program to have a second production batch ready for launch, after previously delivering and launching an initial group of operational satellites.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the latest spacecraft are deployed, the company will have delivered more than 40 satellites for the Tranche 1 Transport Layer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The launch will also expand the number of York-built satellites currently operating across multiple government constellations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13; &#13; York Space Systems has completed a second batch of 21 satellites for the US Space Development&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":557396,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[23],"tags":[61,60,1389,82,247,115],"class_list":["post-557395","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-space","tag-ie","tag-ireland","tag-satellite","tag-science","tag-space","tag-united-states"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/557395","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=557395"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/557395\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/557396"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=557395"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=557395"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=557395"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
