A number of familiar hits return to the Billboard charts this week following the July Fourth holiday. Many of them come from country and rock acts, as tunes that were not necessarily written as patriotic songs have gradually taken on new lives as celebrations of America.<\/p>\n
One notable pop classic joins that group. Miley Cyrus\u2019s<\/a> \u201cParty in the U.S.A.\u201d may not have been created specifically to forever be attached to July Fourth, but following the nation\u2019s milestone two-hundred-and-fiftieth birthday, the smash reappears on four rankings, reaches new highs on two of them and once again becomes one of the biggest songs in America.<\/p>\n \u201cParty in the U.S.A.\u201d Returns to the Streaming Songs Chart<\/p>\n \u201cParty in the U.S.A.\u201d<\/a> reenters the Streaming Songs chart<\/a> at No. 18, establishing a new all-time high. The tally, published weekly by Billboard, details the most-streamed songs of any genre in the U.S., and it is one of only a few lists of tunes that are not focused on any one style.<\/p>\n Cyrus\u2019s hit appears on the Streaming Songs chart for only the second time. It debuted on the list last July, when another round of Independence Day celebrations renewed interest in the cut. \u201cParty in the U.S.A.\u201d may disappear from the Streaming Songs roster again once the holiday-fueled surge fades, but it will likely return next summer.<\/p>\n Miley Cyrus\u2019s Smash Reaches a New Global Peak<\/p>\n \u201cParty in the U.S.A.\u201d also finds its way back to the Billboard Global 200. Cyrus\u2019s smash is back at No. 71, which marks a new peak for the smash on the worldwide chart, which looks at the most-consumed songs around the planet, based on both sales and streaming activity.<\/p>\n The Cyrus classic does not appear on Billboard Global Excl. U.S., which uses a similar methodology, though purchases and plays on streaming sites originating from American consumers do not factor into its composition. In terms of peak position, it sits near the middle of Cyrus\u2019s 24 career placements on the relatively new \u2013 it was introduced in 2020 \u2013 worldwide roster.<\/p>\n \u201cParty in the U.S.A.\u201d Becomes a Bestseller Again<\/p>\n Cyrus\u2019s signature single also reenters the Digital Song Sales chart at No. 17, becoming a top 20 bestseller again. \u201cParty in the U.S.A.\u201d previously climbed all the way to No. 1 on the purchase-built tally, and it has now spent 56 weeks \u2014 more than a full year \u2014 somewhere on the ranking.<\/p>\n Digital purchases play only a small role in the current music economy compared to streaming, but holidays often encourage some fans to buy familiar favorites. Such surges are seen around Halloween and Christmas, and now, July 4 has joined that roundup.<\/p>\n Miley Cyrus Returns to the Billboard Hot 100<\/p>\n \u201cParty in the U.S.A.\u201d reenters the Billboard Hot 100<\/a>, where it\u2019s a top 40 smash once more. This time around, Cyrus is back at No. 25. It is fairly uncommon for a song released many years ago to return to the Billboard Hot 100 after falling off, though holiday seasons are the exception to that rule. \u201cParty in the U.S.A.\u201d originally peaked at No. 2 \u2013 it missed out on becoming her first No. 1 by only one space, and Cyrus wouldn\u2019t conquer the tally for several more years \u2013 and the cut has now accumulated a milestone 30 weeks on the competitive tally.<\/p>\n Lynyrd Skynyrd, Toby Keith, Journey and John Denver<\/p>\n
