The Limerick manager has taken a career break from his role as principal of Abbey CBS in Tipperary Town and is working with JP McManus ahead of the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor.<\/p>\n
With the tournament coming to Limerick in September 2027, Kiely was asked whether his involvement in its staging could make it difficult for him to continue as manager.<\/p>\n
However, the six-time All-Ireland winner quickly dismissed the suggestion that he would be leading any major aspect of the Ryder Cup operation.<\/p>\n
Look, I won\u2019t be driving any major programme there with the Ryder Cup, so let\u2019s get real.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s a huge organisation looking after all of that.<\/p>\n
Preparations are being overseen by a considerable team at Adare Manor alongside Ryder Cup Europe, something Kiely was keen to emphasise when his future was raised.<\/p>\n
He did not offer a definitive commitment for another season, instead insisting that the immediate focus should remain on celebrating Limerick\u2019s achievement.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s been a privilege for me to look after this group, to lead this group, to help them along the road and contribute in some small way.<\/p>\n
For the moment, this is about savouring the work and the success of the last three years, really, because it has been very difficult the last couple of years.<\/p>\n
This year, the lads really, really left no stone unturned, and I must salute my backroom team as well.<\/p>\n
Kiely has now guided Limerick to six All-Ireland titles during an extraordinary decade in charge.<\/p>\n
Although his answer stopped short of confirming his plans for 2027, he made it clear that his Ryder Cup role would not necessarily prevent him from remaining at the helm.<\/p>\n
