Three teenagers were taken to hospital after an incident in which a car was driven at people in north Co Dublin.<\/p>\n
A man has been arrested in connection with the investigation and he is currently being detained at a Garda Station in the north county Dublin area.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed said they had responded to a public order incident at Harbour Road, Skerries on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson said: \u201cAt approximately 9.30pm a large number of youths gathered and a fight broke out.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the course of the incident a car drove at a number of people.\u201d<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed said three teenagers, two female and one male, were taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment with \u201cnon-life threatening injuries\u201d.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson added: \u201cInvestigations are ongoing.\u201d Fianna F\u00e1il Senator Lorraine Clifford-Lee said she was a family friend of one of the young women injured in the incident.<\/p>\n
In a statement, she said: \u201cI am deeply shocked and saddened by the horrific incident that took place on Harbour Road, Skerries, yesterday evening.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is absolutely no place for this kind of violence in our community.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy thoughts are with her, the others injured, and all of their families.<\/p>\n
\u201cThankfully, she is now home from hospital. I wish each of them a full and speedy recovery.\u201d Ms Clifford-Lee said \u201ctensions have been building\u201d in the area following \u201ca significant increase in the number of young people\u201d visiting Skerries.<\/p>\n
