HYBE\u2019s <\/a>new label, ABD (short for A Bold Dream),<\/a> is set to debut a new seven-member girl group, TUIDE. Pronounced like \u201cTyoo-ih\u201d ABD released a stop-motion teaser with the group\u2019s new logo and title card on its official social media accounts today. The imagery is like the ocean, as they\u2019re creating a new wave\/tide in K-pop \u2013 and the colors are bright and harmonious, which is meant to represent what they will bring.<\/p>\n ABD first launched in May, with former PLEDIS Entertainment Head of Artist Planning, Jiwon No, serving as ABD\u2019s President and overseeing the label\u2019s overall management and strategic direction. Sung Soo Han, a.k.a. Master Professional, the creative mastermind behind artists like SEVENTEEN, TWS, IZ*ONE, and After School, led the group\u2019s overall creative production \u2013 music, concepts, and performances.<\/p>\n The label specializes in girl groups, with its motto being \u201cABD is driven by its creative philosophy of imagining \u2018D\u2019 instead of the expected \u2018C\u2019 after \u2018A\u2019 and B,\u201d which reflects the label\u2019s playful approach to music. As the first act for the label, TUIDE \u201caims to create ripples across the global music scene through the harmony of seven unique individuals, bringing a fresh perspective and new energy to audiences worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n The group has already been selected and is set to hold an exclusive pre-debut experience, \u2018TUIDE Exclusive Preview [Playground] on August 1 – 2 in Seoul. <\/p>\n What does TUIDE mean?<\/p>\n According to the press release, TUIDE is \u201cinspired by the phrase ‘Tune the Tide,\u2019 reflecting the group’s ambition to experience the various tides of the world and tune them into new forms of joy through music.\u201d<\/p>\n Who are the members of TUIDE?<\/p>\n We were only given the names of the members: SEOHEE, SEOYEON, ELENA, JIA, SAKI, SEAH, and YI HANI. There have been some teaser images of the group on the group\u2019s official Instagram pages. Once they are ready to debut, they will \u201cshowcase their harmonious energy by tuning into one another while expressing their own individual colors.\u201d<\/p>\n What kind of music will they showcase?<\/p>\n Based on ABD’s description, the group\u2019s signature sound is called \u201cSoultronic,\u201d which combines \u201cthe emotional melodies of soul music with the sophisticated textures of electronic music.\u201d It seems they will also specialize in smooth and soft harmonies.<\/p>\n When will TUIDE debut?<\/p>\n There\u2019s no specific date yet, but ABD states the group will debut in the second half of the year. ABD will hold an exclusive pre-debut experience, \u2018TUIDE Exclusive Preview [Playground] on August 1 – 2 in Seoul.
