\n\tHorror fans better get ready to stay on pitch \u2026 or else!<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cBad Karaoke<\/a>,\u201d a new comedy-horror from directors Chris Lightbody and Robert J. Steinmiller Jr., is set to have its world premiere at Tubi FrightFest<\/a>, the London-based genre film festival, on Aug. 30 at the ODEON Luxe West End. Lightbody co-wrote the script alongside producer Spencer Yaras.<\/p>\n \n\tLexi Underwood (\u201cLittle Fires Everywhere\u201d), Case Walker (\u201cThe Other Two\u201d) and singer Kat Cunning (\u201cTrinkets\u201d) star in the bloody, tongue-in-cheek indie.<\/p>\n \n\tPer the official \u201cBad Karaoke\u201d synopsis, \u201cWhen wedding band keyboardist Emily discovers an old karaoke machine in the back of a dive bar, she thinks it will lead to a fun-filled night of singing and bonding with her band mates. Unfortunately, this karaoke machine seems to have a thirst for blood. When the singing begins, so does the bloodshed. When an excellent performance allows someone to be spared by the machine, the crew think they\u2019ve figured out how to finally beat it. Proven almost immediately wrong, it takes more horrifying deaths and a visit from a mysterious stranger to realize they may have a chance at survival after all.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe were inspired to make this film after years of painful karaoke performances nearly put us in an early grave,\u201d the directors said in a statement. \u201cWe found that many people have had near-death karaoke experiences and we wanted to play with that idea, as well as say something profound about the state of new music.
