\n\t\u201cWhen FIFA invited me to represent one of this year\u2019s host nations in performing the U.S. national anthem, I was beyond honored and knew I wanted the moment to celebrate the unity that World Cup<\/a> is all about,\u201d said Hudson. \u201cMusic<\/a> has always been the universal language, and undoubtedly one of the many heartbeats of any soccer game. The singing and cheering lit up the stadium,\u201d she added. \u201cI loved watching the incredible passion of the fans and the commitment to the amazing athletes in the field. I loved seeing how everyone showed up to represent their teams.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd while Spain took home the FIFA World Cup<\/a> trophy, the moment marked another win: for American fashion.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer and actress worked closely with stylist Law Roach, who led the creative direction for her custom Thom Browne<\/a> look. Her white two-piece skirt suit featured a jacket with navy piping and lace-up detailing in the designer\u2019s signature red, white and blue grosgrain ribbon. She accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including Bird on a Rock 10-carat diamond earrings, a Bird on a Rock 12-carat diamond brooch, and Bird on a Rock and Lovebirds rings.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen you have one of the most iconic American voices opening the biggest sporting event in the world, the fashion has to rise to that moment,\u201d said Roach. \u201cThom Browne<\/a> represents modern American design, Tiffany & Co. represents timeless American luxury, and Jennifer Hudson brought the unmistakable American voice. Together, it was a celebration of American excellence on the world\u2019s biggest stage.\u201d<\/p>\n
