{"id":560133,"date":"2026-07-21T04:12:21","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T04:12:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/560133\/"},"modified":"2026-07-21T04:12:21","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T04:12:21","slug":"aviva-ireland-appoints-jane-curtis-to-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/560133\/","title":{"rendered":"Aviva Ireland appoints Jane Curtis to board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aviva.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Aviva Life &amp; Pensions Ireland<\/a> has appointed Jane Curtis to its board as a non-executive director.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Curtis is a qualified actuary with more than 40 years&#8217; experience in pensions, insurance and financial services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During her career she has held senior leadership and advisory roles, including as a senior partner at <a href=\"https:\/\/businessplus.ie\/tag\/aon\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"9775\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Aon<\/a>, where she advises\u00a0pension trustees and organisations on funding, governance and risk management.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Curtis is a former president of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK, becoming the first woman to hold the role.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, she was awarded the Finlaison Medal in recognition of her contribution to the actuarial profession.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Curtis has extensive board experience across the insurance and financial services sectors, having served as a non-executive director on a number of major financial services boards, including within Aviva and Lloyds Banking Group insurance businesses.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She currently serves as chair of Aviva Protection UK and as a non-executive director of Aviva&#8217;s Insurance, Wealth and Retirement (IWR) UK business.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/GettyImages-2250429853.jpg\" alt=\"Aviva\" class=\"wp-image-241111\"  \/>Jane Curtis has joined the Aviva Ireland board as a non-executive director.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Jane\u00a0brings deep experience in pensions, insurance, governance and risk management, as well as a strong customer focus,&#8221; said Helen Nolan, chair of Aviva Life &amp; Pensions Ireland Board.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Following the recent\u00a0appointments of Victoria Hagon and Aisling Kennedy,\u00a0Jane&#8217;s\u00a0appointment\u00a0further strengthens the breadth of expertise on the Board.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Photo: Jane Curtis.
