The outcome of the meeting will be closely monitored by motorists locally who are more than likely will be hit hardest with prices increasing slowly again.<\/p>\n

Any increases at the pumps will also be a major worry to local haulage contractors that are trying to reamin in business during a very difficult year.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Today\u2019s talks come as the fuel industry warns global oil markets remain unpredictable despite prices easing in recent weeks.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Oil prices surged during the recent conflict in the Middle East, driving up the cost of petrol, diesel and home heating oil, before falling back after a ceasefire was agreed.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n
The industry says uncertainty remains, with global events continuing to influence prices at the pumps.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Government still intends to fully restore fuel excise duties by the end of the year, while continuing to monitor the energy market.<\/p>\n
