This month\u2019s new music roundup flexes the diversity and range of St. Louis artists. DJ and music producer Pajmon \u201cUmami\u201d Porshahidy<\/a> discussed their favorite recently released tracks with host Elaine Cha and music show originator Miya Norfleet on “St. Louis on the Air.” Among the selections is Rachel Bouzier\u2019s romance-driven R&B track \u201cIn My Life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe just gives me goosebumps,\u201d Umami said. \u201cShe’s just so ethereal, and she obviously has great vocals and writing. I saw her perform this live at Music from a Tent<\/a>, and the whole park was enamored with her performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Switching gears and picking up the pace on this month\u2019s playlist is MANAPOOL\u2019s remix of \u201cRedline\u201d by Denver musician moth.sanctuary and Los Angeles-based artist Raiika.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a couple of songs on this month’s roundup that have a collaboration with artists outside of St. Louis,\u201d Norfleet said. \u201cThat just proves how much we are everywhere and how much influence we have on various scenes across the country. When you listen to all the remixes that are part of this \u2018Redline\u2019 compilation, MANAPOOL’s is so unique, so different.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also featured this month is \u201c314Deep\u201d by 4Deep and Be.Be the Neosoul \u2013 a groovy salute to St. Louis.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, 4Deep are amazing lyricists. \u2026 The vibe of the song is kind of starting to become like a signature of St. Louis hip-hop, where it’s just groovy,\u201d Norfleet said. \u201cAnd the engineering. There are moments where Be.Be is like kind of whispering behind you, and it gave me chills the first time. How they mixed it is beautiful, beautiful work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Umami is one of the founders of Materia,<\/a> a music collective in St. Louis. Recently they released a compilation album that includes their latest track, \u201cDo Dat.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI played [\u201cDo Dat\u201d] the other day at Nicky Slices \u2026 everyone in the kitchen was like, \u2018Wow!\u2019 and started to scream,\u201d Umami said. \u201cIt’s always fun to test songs out.\u201d<\/p>\n
