The Canadian Country Music Association has released the nominees for the 2026 CCMA awards, and only two nominees are from Saskatchewan. <\/p>\n
Saskatoon is hosting the awards show at SaskTel Centre on Sept. 19 to close out Country Music Week starting Sept. 16. <\/p>\n
This year\u2019s nominations include 192 artists and industry professionals, with 71 nominees earning their first nominations ever. Josh Ross and Cameron Whitcomb\u00a0lead\u00a0the night\u00a0with seven each.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Prince Albert\u2019s Josh Stumpf is listed\u00a0for the\u00a0fan\u2019s\u00a0choice award, as well as\u00a0breakthrough\u00a0artist or\u00a0group of the\u00a0year.\u00a0In 2025, he released his two singles\u00a0\u201cHighway Money\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cNobody Roads.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cCountry music was always where I was going to go and always where I\u2019ll be,\u201d Stumpf told\u00a0the StarPhoenix.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
He said he was driving down a grid road when he\u00a0found out about the nominations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI was so amped\u2026 I got a notification that I got tagged in\u00a0something\u00a0so I went to open it and look at what it was, and I had to pull over\u00a0and stop to make sure I was reading the right thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
He describes representing Saskatchewan as one of the coolest feelings, and plans to continue repping with the release of\u00a0new music. <\/p>\n
He said there\u2019s no confirmed date yet, so fans will have to keep their ears open.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Representing\u00a0southeastern Saskatchewan is Jess\u00a0Moskaluke,\u00a0who\u2019s\u00a0up against four other nominees for\u00a0female\u00a0artist of the\u00a0year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI write primarily about my own experiences, so no matter what I\u2019m writing about, Saskatchewan comes through in everything I do,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
