P\u00b7P\u00b7O\u00b7W to Represent Owen Fu<\/a>:\u00a0The artist recently had a solo show with the gallery in New York, which will represent him alongside Antenna Space in Shanghai.<\/p>\n

Nicola Vassell Takes Representation\u00a0of Na Kim<\/a>:\u00a0The artist is known equally for her book covers and her paintings of people, some of which were\u00a0on\u00a0view at the New York gallery in January.<\/p>\n

Jessie Washburne-Harris Named Global Director at White Cube:\u00a0The Pace Gallery and Marian Goodman Gallery alum will oversee the gallery\u2019s long-term growth in the United States, as\u00a0ARTnews\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0on Tuesday. Nearly two years ago, White Cube opened its first New York gallery.<\/p>\n

Chris Sharp Gallery Adds Mark A. Rodriguez to Roster:\u00a0The artist is known for sculptural works that consider commodification\u00a0and notions of good taste.<\/p>\n

Berry Campbell Takes\u00a0on\u00a0the Estate of Louisa Chase:\u00a0The gallery will present its first solo exhibition\u00a0for the artist, who died in 2016, in April of next year.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat was the\u00a0combined total\u00a0<\/a>across Christie\u2019s, Phillips, and Sotheby\u2019s evening sales in Hong Kong this past weekend. That figure was well below the $208.6 milliontallied at the equivalent sales last fall. That latter number, however, was boosted by Christie\u2019s inaugural auction\u00a0at its swanky new Hong Kong headquarters in the Henderson, which alone brought in $134 million\u00a0on\u00a043 lots. By contrast, this year\u2019s 20th\/21st century sale at Christie\u2019s, which opened the weekend\u00a0on\u00a0Friday, achieved $72.7 million\u00a0on\u00a038 lots\u2014a 46 percent drop\u2014and fell more in line with the equivalent March sale, which totaled $73.3 million.<\/p>\n

\n\tIs the next big market star a woman active in the 17th century? Quite possibly. The\u00a0New York Times\u00a0recently\u00a0delved into the history<\/a>\u00a0behind the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien\u2019s newly opened Michaelina Wautier survey, the most high-profile exhibition\u00a0devoted to the artist, whose work is so little-known that some pieces\u00a0onview spent decades gathering dust in storage. According to the\u00a0Times,\u00a0Wautier is not\u00a0only being reappraised within institutional walls but has also become an unexpected force in salesrooms, with her paintings sextupling their estimates at auction.
