Woods Bagot\u2019s redesign of London House at 216 St Georges Terrace in Perth embraces that shift, transforming the building\u2019s arrival experience into a richly layered environment that embraces its heritage character.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London House by Woods Bagot\" class=\"['full'] full blur-up lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/3e05ba9d7b57120e986cc1eb23420548.jpg\" height=\"484\" width=\"728\"\/><\/p>\n<p>View gallery<\/p>\n<p>Originally built in 1986, London House is distinguished by its red-brick facade. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRespecting the existing architecture was a guiding principle from day one,\u201d says project lead Angela Kuroiwa. \u201cAs the project evolved, our focus became less about introducing something new and more about revealing and enhancing the qualities that already made London House unique, while carefully integrating contemporary elements that felt authentic to the building.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London House by Woods Bagot\" class=\"['full'] full blur-up lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1e5af930bbe78e45670236a0d7f05cfa.jpg\" height=\"485\" width=\"728\"\/><\/p>\n<p>View gallery<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur vision was to design a layered arrival experience that felt warm, welcoming and memorable, drawing inspiration from boutique hotels and private members\u2019 clubs rather than traditional corporate environments. We wanted the space to unfold as a series of curated experiences, encouraging people to linger rather than simply pass through.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London House by Woods Bagot\" class=\"['full'] full blur-up lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/8a728efbd49a5a5a10689778d0130227.jpg\" height=\"699\" width=\"465\"\/><\/p>\n<p>View gallery<\/p>\n<p>Rich timber, stone and aged bronze pair with layered fabrics, bespoke rugs and carefully selected furniture to create a welcoming atmosphere. \u201cPeople are increasingly looking for environments that offer comfort, connection and a sense of experience, not just a place to work,\u201d says Kuroiwa. \u201cBy drawing on hospitality design principles, the lobby supports a range of activities throughout the day while fostering a stronger sense of community and belonging.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The design narrative centres on what Kuroiwa describes as \u201cmodern nostalgia\u201d, where retained elements are just as important as new interventions. Original jarrah flooring, ornate ceiling mouldings and antique newspaper rails have been carefully restored, while a reconfigured entry sequence strengthens the arrival experience.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London House by Woods Bagot\" class=\"['full'] full blur-up lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/a9fda4cd913b2430b9ffb0acc53a8acf.jpg\" height=\"699\" width=\"465\"\/><\/p>\n<p>View gallery<\/p>\n<p>A previously underused area has also been transformed into an art gallery, extending the building\u2019s role beyond that of a workplace.
