\n\tChris Rock<\/a> is back behind the camera with his latest effort as a writer-director, the Hollywood-centric feature Misty Green.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe A24<\/a> film, the trailer for which dropped today, follows an actress whose career has stalled years after her breakthrough role, as she fights for her second act.<\/p>\n

\n\tRosalind Eleazar stars as Misty Green alongside Adam Driver<\/a>, Daniel Kaluuya<\/a>, Anna Kendrick<\/a>, Topher Grace<\/a> and Rock.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe trailer kicks off with Misty being kicked out of her apartment by a woman who claims the place belongs to her husband.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m broke,\u201d Misty says early on. \u201cIt\u2019s not just me though; I\u2019ve got my brother [played by Kaluuya].\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe\u2019s later shown meeting with Topher Grace\u2019s exec who says of Misty\u2019s prospects, \u201cIt\u2019s tough out there. I don\u2019t know if I can even get you on Law & Order now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMisty seems to be following her own schedule and playbook, declaring, \u201cI wake up when I want to wake up. I sleep when I want to sleep. I get high when I want to get high. I fuck when I want to fuck.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBut it also seems as though she might have burned some bridges as Rock\u2019s character recalls, \u201cThe last time I cast you, you punched this bitch in the face.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShe hit me first,\u201d Misty insists.<\/p>\n

\n\tGrace later suggests she might be at least partly responsible for her situation, saying \u201cYou\u2019re not exactly an unknown Misty. Is Hollywood racist, yep. Don\u2019t act like you never had a shot.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMisty is also shown encountering Driver\u2019s character who makes her an offer: \u201cI\u2019m looking for open-minded friends who might want to make a little extra cash.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd she\u2019s seen auditioning, singing \u201cOne Night Only\u201d and her brother going through tough times including what looks like a stint behind bars.<\/p>\n

\n\tMisty Green, based on an original script by Rock<\/a>, is set to receive its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival<\/a> ahead of an October theatrical release.<\/p>\n

\n\tRock previously directed such features as Head of State (2003), I Think I Love My Wife (2007) and the well-received Top Five (2014).<\/p>\n

\n\tHe has also recently starred in the movies Rustin, Amsterdam and Spiral: From the Book of Saw and on the FX series Fargo.
