WEST ALLIS, Wis. \u2014 The Beach Boys have canceled their highly anticipated concert at the Wisconsin State Fair scheduled for Aug. 16, state fair organizers announced Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
While founding members Carl Wilson, Brian Wilson and Dennis Wilson have since passed away, and co-founder Al Jardine has long since left the group, vocalist Mike Love continues to tour with the band.<\/p>\n
The band, famous for songs including “Sloop John B” and”Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” released this following statement:<\/p>\n
“We are of course disappointed we won\u2019t be able to welcome The Beach Boys back to Wisconsin State Fair during their August show dates. Unfortunately, due to the timing of this break, The Beach Boys concert scheduled for Aug. 16 will no longer take place,\u201d the band said.<\/p>\n
According to organizers, no replacement act will be scheduled at the Bank Five Nine Main Stage. Wisconsin State Fair will begin issuing refunds shortly.<\/p>\n
Tickets purchased through Etix will be automatically refunded within the next seven to 14 business days, requiring no action from customers.<\/p>\n
For those who purchased tickets at the state fair ticket office using cash, the refund process requires an in-person visit. The Ticket Office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to process refunds. Ticket holders who paid cash must bring their original tickets and a valid ID to complete the refund process.<\/p>\n
