This week may have seen some horrific scenes<\/a> between Joel Marshall and Albert Square’s teens on EastEnders, but it seems relations are much friendlier between them all in real life. Actor Max Murray, who plays the villain, has shared a series of pictures and heaped praise on his “amazing” co-stars.<\/p>\n

In tonight’s episode, Joel – who was recently released from Young Offenders – was ambushed, locked to a railing and soaked in beer, while Nugget filmed the whole thing.<\/p>\n

When the gang returned to check on him, they found he had gone… but he was then discovered face-down in the middle of the Square, having been hit over the head.<\/p>\n

Spoilers for next week<\/a> confirm that Joel – who displayed dangerously misogynistic, abusive and violent behaviour before being convicted – survived the attack, even though the culprit remains unknown.<\/p>\n

But despite the animosity between the young characters, actor Murray has shown they have a tight off-screen bond.<\/p>\n

Alongside a series of snaps on Instagram<\/a>, he wrote: “What a privilege and honour to work with all the amazing talented young cast of @bbceastenders. Off screen there is so much love and support between us and I am so greatfull [sic] and proud to say that I have worked with all of them.”<\/p>\n

Ellie Dadd, who plays Amy Mitchell, replied: “Always love working with you.”<\/p>\n

Stage queen Mazz Murray, who is Max’s aunt, responded with heart emojis after appearing on-screen alongside him earlier this month.<\/p>\n

She portrayed Cleo, Joel’s mum<\/a>, and showed up with him in tow, declaring she could no longer take care of him.<\/p>\n

“It was so wonderful to be part of these EastEnders episodes as we delve into Joel\u2019s familial past, and my experience was made all the better working alongside my talented, gorgeous nephew Max,” the Mamma Mia! legend said. “And also, my childhood school friend Alex Walkinshaw playing [Ross] my ex-husband!”<\/p>\n

EastEnders airs Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.<\/p>\n
