The Kala Salon has announced \u2018Dialogue And Perception (Sambad ra Dristikon)\u2019, a solo exhibit of abstract paintings by Nepali artist and educator Sagar Manandhar. The exhibition will be on view until August 8.<\/p>\n
Featuring a body of luminous, large-scale canvases, including works on linen executed in proportions, the exhibition marks a new chapter in Manandhar’s decades-long exploration of abstraction. <\/p>\n
Known for a style that is consistent and continually evolving, his work spans canvas types and formats, with a particular affinity for large-scale linen canvases marked by lines that reward sustained contemplation.<\/p>\n
“The rhythm, the vibes, and the surroundings are never accidental. They are the first observation of every work I create. For me, a new creative approach doesn’t only begin with an idea, but with a felt surrounding: the subtle hum of materials waiting to be perceived,\u201d says Manandhar.<\/p>\n
Curator Sophia L Pand\u00e9 notes that Manandhar’s evolution within a single, instantly recognisable style, varying in method, execution, and canvas type, is the hallmark of a true creative. <\/p>\n
“This series is an exceptional body of work from a protean artist who understands what it means for abstract work to be underscored by method, research and meaning, even while experimenting,” she says.<\/p>\n
