(WDRB) &#8212; The Speed Art Museum celebrated the grand opening of its new outdoor addition Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Art Park is a 3-acre green space that showcases the power of art in the open air. There are contemporary sculptures, native plantings and more than 150 new trees in the area.<\/p>\n<p>A refection and relaxation area can be found within the park, and there are several events planned for the future.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said the park is truly for everyone to experience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For nearly 100 years, the Speed Art Museum has been a haven for the art in Louisville,&#8221; Kentucky First Lady Britainy Beshear said as the park was unveiled Wednesday. &#8220;There is something really special about the intersection of nature and the art. The way it can invoke and heighten our senses.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Art Park is free to enjoy every day of the year from dawn to dusk.
