Stephen Graham has a CV full of incredible performances \u2014 This Is England, Boiling Point, Adolescence, Line of Duty, A Thousand Blows, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Rocketman, Little Boy Blue, Peaky Blinders, Line of Duty, and more \u2014 and he has now been honoured for it.<\/p>\n

The prolific actor was presented with a companionship of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts<\/a> (LIPA) by none other than fellow Scouser Sir Paul McCartney at a special event this week.<\/p>\n

The ceremony marked 30 years of the Institute, and saw Black Ops and Dune: Prophecy actor Cathy Tyson and McFly frontman Tom Fletcher also honoured.<\/p>\n

Professor Sean McNamara, the principal and CEO of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, said: “This is a milestone graduation for us.<\/p>\n

“As we mark our 30th anniversary and confer our first LIPA degrees, today is a celebration of creativity and collaboration.<\/p>\n

“Our graduating class of 2026 leaves here as artists, innovators and leaders with the skills, vision and confidence to shape the creative and cultural industries.<\/p>\n

“It is fitting that we celebrate their achievements alongside the outstanding artists, producers and managers who join us today as LIPA Companions. We are immensely proud of them all and look forward to seeing the future they create together.”<\/p>\n

Following on from the success of Adolescence, Graham announced a different kind of project.<\/p>\n

Letters to Our Sons is a book comprised of letters from multiple fathers from around the world to their sons about the various ways it “means to be a man”, designed to “continue the conversation” regarding toxic masculinity.<\/p>\n

A whole host of famous dads have contributed to the project, including Danny Dyer, Javier Bardem, Daniel Mays, Michael Socha, Ashley Walters and Riz Ahmed, Olympian Tom Daley, football stars Chris Kamara and Jamie Redknapp, writer Jack Thorne, comedian Romesh Ranganathan, presenter Jeff Brazier, musician Goldie, Educating Yorkshire’s Matthew Burton, and documentary-maker Louis Theroux.<\/p>\n

It’ll be released in September, with live events happening in London and Liverpool on the week of release<\/a>.<\/p>\n
