{"id":564273,"date":"2026-07-23T13:19:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T13:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/564273\/"},"modified":"2026-07-23T13:19:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T13:19:08","slug":"two-gardai-hospitalised-after-processing-seized-vape-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/564273\/","title":{"rendered":"Two garda\u00ed hospitalised after processing seized vape products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two garda\u00ed have been taken to hospital after processing seized vape products.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened at Edenderry Garda Station on Wednesday, and the station is to remain closed on Thursday amid an investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">A Garda spokesperson said the two members were taken to hospital after becoming unwell while on duty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThe members were involved in processing vape products seized from a commercial premises during an ongoing investigation,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cBoth male members are currently in hospital under medical assessment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cAn Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na is providing welfare support to the hospitalised members and their families at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">They added: \u201cEdenderry Garda Station will remain closed pending further examination and specialist deep cleaning tomorrow, Thursday July 23 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cPolicing services in the area are being provided from Tullamore Garda Station.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two garda\u00ed have been taken to hospital after processing seized vape products.
