{"id":566412,"date":"2026-07-24T19:00:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T19:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/566412\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T19:00:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T19:00:13","slug":"secwepemc-landmarks-project-sculpture-stolen-salmon-arm-rcmp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/566412\/","title":{"rendered":"Secw\u00e9pemc Landmarks Project sculpture stolen: Salmon Arm RCMP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>              Secw\u00e9pemc Landmarks Project sculpture stolen: Salmon Arm RCMP<\/p>\n<p class=\"pubStamp\">Published 9:22 am Friday, July 24, 2026<\/p>\n<p>A sculpture that is part of the Secw\u00e9pemc Landmarks Project was stolen from the Tappen area.<\/p>\n<p>Created by Rod Tomma, Rhona Bowe, Tilkotmes and Eric Kutschker, the <a href=\"https:\/\/shuswaptrails.com\/points\/poi\/8\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Coyote Rock landmark<\/a> was taken from the Tappen Bluffs, near Skimikin and Platt roads. <\/p>\n<p>Salmon Arm RCMP say the sculpture weighs close to 500 kilograms (1,102 lbs), and would \u201crequire multiple people or equipment to move.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Installed at the Tappen Bluffs in 2023, Coyote Rock is one of 16 landmark sculptures in the Shuswap carved by Secwe\u0301pemc and non-Secwe\u0301pemc contemporary artists.
