Spoilers for next week’s episodes<\/a> have already revealed that Gabby will collapse in the kitchen at Home Farm, but now actor Rosie Bentham has revealed that Gabby will develop Orthorexia, which is a very unhealthy dangerous fixation on the perceived ‘quality’ of food.<\/p>\n ITV<\/p>\n Related: Best streaming services UK 2026 \u2013 including Disney_, Netflix, iPlayer and Apple TV<\/a><\/p>\n “I do see that Gabby will develop this”, the star said. “[Gabby] is losing control of her life in many aspects – love interests, not finding her place, and her mom being away in Portugal.<\/p>\n “While Orthorexia isn’t currently a recognised eating disorder, it is an excessive concern for everything going into her body. It will be interesting to see how this plays out regarding her relationships, her son Thomas, and her job in the food industry.”<\/p>\n Bentham explained that she was aware of the condition before getting the storyline, stating: “I am passionate about fitness and health, and I am part of a gym community. I have seen the misinformation online from unqualified people telling others what is ‘good’ or ‘bad.’<\/p>\n “It made me question who we are listening to and why it forms such a big part of our identity. I’ve known people who have struggled with binge-restrict cycles, but Orthorexia -this literal fixation where you can’t think about anything else – is different.<\/p>\n “It’s that desire for wellness taken to an extreme where it consumes your emotional well-being without you realising it.”<\/p>\n ITV<\/p>\n Related: Emmerdale’s Danny Miller pays emotional tribute to wife Steph to mark huge milestone<\/a> <\/p>\n She added that Gabby “has tried to fix her life with men, romance<\/a>, business, and money”, but her desire to “prioritise herself” is becoming “a compulsive, pathological fixation”.<\/p>\n “She is also judging others, which reflects the current social media pressure to fit into a certain bracket,” Bentham explained. “It’s not that healthy eating is bad – it’s great – but the motivation behind it becomes the problem when it dictates your anxiety and guilt.”<\/p>\n Unfortunately, a check-up with Manpreet Sharma after her collapse does more harm than good.<\/p>\n ITV<\/p>\n Related: 10 huge Emmerdale spoilers for next week (27 to 31 July)<\/a> <\/p>\n “Manpreet talks to her about health and potential pregnancy, but overall, it’s just seen as a ‘pat on the back’ for living healthily”, the actor added. “It reinforces Gabby’s mindset that she is doing the best thing for herself. While eating healthy is a positive thing, for Gabby, this is developing into a complete, pathological fixation.”<\/p>\n And it looks like this is going to be quite the serious, long-running storyline, with Bentham stating: “I think the future is more bleak than bright with this behaviour.
