Emmerdale star Kevin Mathurin has teased that his character Charles Anderson will be pushed to breaking point<\/a> in upcoming episodes in a mysterious new story, prompting him to take action for his loved ones. <\/p>\n

As the vicar in the village, Charles is known for his calm and kind nature, but he would do anything to protect his family. Speaking exclusively to Inside Soap<\/a>, Kevin revealed that an upcoming situation where someone is taken advantage of leads to Charles getting involved.<\/p>\n

“Something will happen where Charles gets to that point where enough is enough,” he explained. “Liberties have been taken, so Charles gets tough, and pulls some people up about it. When it comes to family, Charles steps in\u2026”<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen whether or not this is to do with Charles and Claudette\u2019s current houseguest Kev. Next week, the trio fail to realise that Kev\u2019s old mate Steve is planning to carry out a robbery<\/a>, but could this crime be exposed?<\/p>\n

On Charles and Kev\u2019s relationship, Kevin said: “He gets on with Kev. Charles is the reason why Kev is at the house in the first place, even though it\u2019s taken on a new energy, with Claudette spoiling him!<\/p>\n

“At times, Charles feels a little neglected, because she\u2019s pining over Kev more, but I think that\u2019s mainly because, really, Claudette knows Charles is alright. But Charles likes having Kev around because he can see that he\u2019s trying to make a change. Every now and then, Charles is like, \u2018Keep in line, man. Behave yourself.\u2019”<\/p>\n

But away from the drama, Kevin wants romance on the horizon for his alter ego, calling for a brand new love interest for Charles.<\/p>\n

“Oh, please! The mummy\u2019s boy situation is getting a bit much!” he laughed. “It\u2019s comedy, but it would be nice for Charles to find love again. There were nice moments with Laurel<\/a> and there was a little bit of a tease on the Super Soap Week a few years ago with Nicola \u2013 but obviously, she is married to Jimmy.<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t know, there\u2019s no one off the top of my head, so who knows? Any new characters coming in, send them my way!”<\/p>\n
