Joined by Letitia Wright, A.K.A. Shuri, and Winston Duke, A.K.A. M&#8217;Baku, Coogler announced that David Jonsson (The Long Walk, Alien: Romulus) will be the new Black Panther in the upcoming film.<\/p>\n<p>Upon introducing Jonsson, Coogler shared further details about the character he&#8217;ll be playing. &#8220;The last time we got to make a movie, we introduced a character who is the son of the character that the great Chadwick Boseman played, our T\u2019Challa, in that film. And today, I want to tell you that in this next film, he grows up [and] he comes of age.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jonsson stepped out to a standing ovation from the crowd. &#8220;I want to say thank you so much,&#8221; he told the audience. &#8220;Thank you Ryan, thank you Kevin [Feige], thank you to this amazing family that I have the honor and the privilege and the blessing to join. I actually don\u2019t want to say too much because I want to let the screen do the talking.
