The Mayo team are returning to Croke Park on Sunday to take on the mighty Kerry in hopes of being the ones to lift the Sam Maguire Cup.

It has been 75 years since Mayo lifted the Cup, and cheering them on all the way as they aim for glory will be the team’s wives and girlfriends.

The team has come very close to winning this major tournament over the years, but will 2026 be their year? Showing their support, let’s take a look at the women behind this determined team.

Jessie and Jordan got together when they were just 14 years old, but went their separate ways a few months later. They are both from Crossmolina, but it was only when Jessie visited her granny that Jordan got to know her.

The couple got engaged last summer, but there are no signs of a date just yet for their big day.

When it comes to GAA, Jessie has always got Jordan’s back. When things don’t go in Mayo‘s favour, she says: ‘By the time he gets home, it’s not too bad.’

After a match, Jordan will often ‘send a few strongly worded messages’ and Jessie is the first one he goes to. Over time, Jessie says, ‘you accept it.’ Laughing, she added: ‘I get the very first 15 minutes of it, and then after that it is fine.’

What a few years it has been for the O’ Sheas as a couple.

Aidan popped the question during a stay at Ashford Castle in 2023, and the couple married a year later at Muckross Park Hotel in Kerry.

While having some fun in the sun in Crete, Aidan, who is already a dad to his daughter Caragh, and Kristin shared that they’re expecting their first child together in July 2025.

Kristin posted snaps of her growing bump at the beach. Kristin said: ‘So excited to meet our Baba.’

The couple announced the birth of their daughter, Romee, in January 2026.

2026 started off to a fantastic start with Mayo’s Stephen Coen saying ‘I Do’ in December 2025 to his partner, another sports-loving star, Galway’s Charlotte Cooney.

The couple had first met when they were in playschool, but it would be some time before they would begin to date.

Despite coming from rival counties, the pair began dating in 2016 and would go on to get engaged in South-East Asia in 2023
