EastEnders’ Ian Beale is facing his day in court<\/a> next week, as the possibility of him going to prison for Jordan Fox’s accident looks very likely. However, it looks like he’s going to a lifeline from an unlikely person: Chelsea.<\/p>\n

According to Chelsea’s actor Zaraah Abrahams, her character has been feeling “overwhelmed” lately, and is right on the cusp of changing her mind about keeping schtum on her involvement in what happened to Jordan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“She believes she played a part in what happened for shouting at Jordan and not keeping an eye on him and has struggled with her decision to stay silent”, Abrahams said.<\/p>\n

“While coping with Denise’s diagnosis and focusing on Jordan’s recovery, she’s been torn between supporting her son and facing the truth, knowing Ian has carried all of the blame.”<\/p>\n

On the other hand, “Chelsea knows that helping Ian means having to tell her family that she feels partially to blame for shouting at Jordan, and she’s not sure she\u2019s ready for that.<\/p>\n

“She wants to do the right thing, but more than anything, she fears how her family will react when they discover she’s kept the truth from them.”<\/p>\n

Abrahams stated that Chelsea’s guilt has been “building for a long time” and it’s mix of Jordan’s recovery and conversations with her family that convince her that doing the right thing is the way forward.<\/p>\n

But how do her family react to her admission? Well, Abrahams has explained that “Denise doesn\u2019t react with anger, but she is disappointed and makes it clear that Chelsea\u2019s decision to stay silent all this time was wrong.<\/p>\n

“Given everything she’s going through, she’s focused on the bigger picture and appreciates how fragile life can be. Chelsea expects a much harsher response, but Denise is ultimately relieved that she has taken responsibility and told the truth.”<\/p>\n

Of course, it’s not Denise’s reaction she should be the most concerned about, but that of Sheila Atkins. She shares Chelsea’s confession with Gray in prison, which she may end up regretting…<\/p>\n

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast. <\/p>\n
