A man accused of assaulting a drag queen in Cork city centre \u2014 in an alleged incident widely shared on a social media video \u2014 had the case against him adjourned until July 30.<\/p>\n
Martin Ekhosuehi, aged 23, of Willow Gardens, Brooklodge, Glanmire, faces a charge of assault causing harm on Oliver Plunkett St, Cork, on October 26, 2025.<\/p>\n
Sergeant Gear\u00f3id Davis outlined the allegations previously: \u201cGarda Steven O\u2019Sullivan responded to a report of an alleged assault having occurred on Oliver Plunkett St.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn arrival to the scene, Garda O\u2019Sullivan spoke to the injured party who informed him that he had been assaulted by a man he described.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe injured party had a cut on his chin which was bleeding and he supplied Garda O\u2019Sullivan with photographs and videos of the suspect.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe injured party had been recording a video after midnight.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is alleged that the defendant and others were laughing at him and that he went over and spoke to Mr Ekhosuehi, who punched him once.<\/p>\n
\u201cA short while later, Garda O\u2019Sullivan observed a male on Oliver Plunkett St matching the description of the male in the videos and photographs. Garda O\u2019Sullivan approached this male and established his identity as Martin Ekhosuehi.<\/p>\n
\u201cGarda O\u2019Sullivan arrested Martin Ekhosuehi on suspicion of assault causing harm, contrary to Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against The Person Act.\u201d<\/p>\n
