A popular Irish food reviewer has taken to Galway and eaten what he called Ireland’s best burger.<\/p>\n
Paul from Is It Worth It reviewed Smashbird in his latest video.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cMost food reviewers that you will have seen online have all ranted and raved about it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve got loads of recommendations to come down here as well. The locals seem to love it. But some of the food reviewers that have come down here have been known, or allegedly, take some money to do reviews. So the sheriff\u2019s in town today.\u201d<\/p>\n
Paul noted that the takeaway was “absolutely packed\u201d and he could see from outside that awards decorated the walls.<\/p>\n
He ordered the Big Bird burger which comes with buttermilk fried chicken, Hickeys beef patty, streaky bacon, cheese, pink onion and smash sauce.<\/p>\n
That cost him \u20ac14 while chicken wings were priced at \u20ac12.<\/p>\n
Taking a bite of the burger, he said: \u201cOh wow. That chicken is so moist.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh my God mate. That is amazing, the juiciness of the chicken and then the saltiness of the beef together? Oh my god, that\u2019s amazing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat could be the best burger I\u2019ve had in Ireland. I was really really sceptical because I saw how many food influencers have been down here and said it\u2019s great \u2014 and sometimes it\u2019s probably not.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s one of the best burgers I\u2019ve had in Ireland. Genuinely.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s amazing. The chicken\u2019s cooked so well and the beef is lovely and salty. Not overly seasoned. The sauce is adding something to it. And then the veg is giving a little bit of crunch to it. It\u2019s lovely.”<\/p>\n
Rounding out the video, he gave Smahsbird a 9.5 out of 10.<\/p>\n
Last year, Smashbird was the overall winner of the Burger and American category for the Deliveroo Awards.<\/p>\n
The local favourite beat out stiff competition from across the country.<\/p>\n
Including renowned names like Bunsen in Dublin, Belfast and Cork, Sambros in Limerick and Dacent Munch in Cork.<\/p>\n
