The Flaming Lips<\/a> soared through their headline set on the penultimate night of the Somerset House Summer Series.<\/p>\n

The American psychedelic rockers performed a rare set of era-defining tracks, split into two halves.<\/p>\n

They opened the momentous occasio<\/a>n with their 2006 track, \u2018It Overtakes Me\u2019, before diving into parts one and two of \u2018Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots\u2019.<\/p>\n

Nestled into the first half of the set was a cover of Daniel Johnston\u2019s \u2018True Love Will Find You in the End\u2019, followed by a cover of The Chemical Brothers\u2019 \u2018The Golden Path\u2019.<\/p>\n

After sealing off the first half of the show with \u2018Vein of Stars\u2019, \u2018All We Have Is Now\u2019 and \u2018Do You Realize??\u2019, the band brought even more energy for \u2018Race for the Prize\u2019 and \u2018She Don\u2019t Use Jelly\u2019.<\/p>\n

Later on, another cover saw fans in attendance witness The Flaming Lips take on Black Sabbath\u2019s \u2018War Pigs\u2019, before they returned for one final song, \u2018A Spoonful Weighs a Ton\u2019.<\/p>\n

The band was on top form despite the trouble they faced last month, after cancelling an appearance in Vienna due to frontman Wayne Coyne\u2019s hospitalisation<\/a> for pneumonia.<\/p>\n

The rockers have been keeping busy as of late, with shows all across Europe and the UK; they will next play at Latitude Festival in Henham Park, before making their way to Glasgow, Cardiff, and Brighton.<\/p>\n

The latter show will see the musicians join Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds for their massive Brighton homecoming show<\/a> at Preston Park on July 31st.<\/p>\n
