{"id":570177,"date":"2026-07-27T09:50:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T09:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/570177\/"},"modified":"2026-07-27T09:50:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T09:50:14","slug":"watch-temporary-bridge-on-cork-motorway-project-lifted-into-place","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/570177\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch: Temporary bridge on Cork motorway project lifted into place"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">A temporary bridge has been lifted into place parallel to the existing Maryborough Hill bridge over the Cork to Ringaskiddy road, which will be demolished to make make for a new wider and longer bridge over the\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.echolive.ie\/corknews\/arid-41823884.html\">M28 motorway<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Work commenced on the installation on Friday night and continued over the weekend, reopening this morning, during which time the N28 was fully closed between Rochestown and Carrs Hill.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Fine Gael Cork county councillor \u00dana McCarthy told  The Echo that although works have resulted in traffic delays for motorists, the longer term benefits of the project will be clear once the M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy motorway project is completed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">\u201cIt was obviously short term disruption.
