EastEnders\u2019 Joel Marshall\u2019s attack continues to cause ripples around Albert Square<\/a> next week, and the identity of who was responsible remains a mystery. But as secrets come to light and confessions are made, will the truth about the assault finally be revealed?<\/p>\n

“There are so many people who wanted revenge on Joel,” begins our Walford insider, “with numerous motives that may have pushed someone into lashing out<\/a>. The plot is about to thicken, and it starts to look like more than one guilty party is involved\u2026”<\/p>\n

The teens are terrified the finger will be pointed in their direction, after they humiliated Joel by playing a cruel prank shortly before he got attacked \u2013 and Barney is particularly nervous, after he made Harry uncover the weapon that was used<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Needing to offload, he makes a confession to Zack, which leaves his dad reeling. Additionally, Barney also reveals he saw Nugget acting suspiciously on that fateful night. But is this a breakthrough or a red herring? <\/p>\n

Conflicted about Joel being back in Walford, Vicki has struggled with his presence. Despite this, she is supportive of Ross wanting to find out who attacked his son, and the pair present a united front as they dig for answers.<\/p>\n

When some information emerges about Joel that involves Avani and the rest of his former friendship group<\/a>, Ross and Vicki have more questions \u2013 and know who might be able to answer them\u2026 <\/p>\n

“The Moons are tight-lipped at first, but their tense chat leads to Ross realising the rest of the teens\u2019 parents have kept quiet about a few things. Ross is raging, and vows to talk to the police.”<\/p>\n

Kat and Alfie summon their fellow parents for an emergency summit. While the intention is to stop the situation escalating, it has the opposite effect when Ross and Vicki show up and there are tense exchanges among the grown-ups.<\/p>\n

Everyone wants to protect their own kids, and Jack is especially worried about Amy and Ricky, so asks fellow officer Craig a favour<\/a> that puts his colleague in a tricky position. Is Jack willing to bend the law he\u2019s meant to be upholding to keep Amy out of trouble? <\/p>\n

“Craig later has an update for Ross about Joel,” says our insider. “But has Jack secretly convinced him to compromise himself to deflect attention away from Amy for the attack? Craig is certainly cagey when Amy later asks him about the investigation\u2026”<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, tormented by the mounting pressure, Barney gives a statement to the police, but has he incriminated himself or dobbed one of his mates in? <\/p>\n
