A 10-year-old girl who was left in a critical condition following a road crash involving a car and a flatbed van in Co Cavan last Friday night has died in hospital.<\/p>\n
The collision occurred just after 4.30pm on the R162 at Corclare, Shercock.<\/p>\n
The driver of the car, a woman in her 50s who was also the girl’s mother, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
The girl, who was a passenger in the car, was airlifted to Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin in a critical condition, where she died this afternoon.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed have renewed their appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.<\/p>\n
Any road users who were travelling in the area between 4.15pm and 5pm last Friday and who may have camera footage are asked to make it available to garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
