{"id":573834,"date":"2026-07-29T13:13:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-29T13:13:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/573834\/"},"modified":"2026-07-29T13:13:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T13:13:11","slug":"world-photography-awards-to-exhibit-in-joburg-from-mid-august","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/573834\/","title":{"rendered":"World Photography Awards to exhibit in Joburg from mid-August"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A curated selection of award-winning images from the 2024, 2025 and 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldphoto.org\/sony-world-photography-awards\/winners-galleries\/2026\/professional\/blowing-away-blues-sandile-ndlovu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.worldphoto.org\/sony-world-photography-awards\/winners-galleries\/2026\/professional\/blowing-away-blues-sandile-ndlovu\">World Photography Awards<\/a> will go on show in Johannesburg in August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The exhibition is hosted by the Roger Ballen Centre for Photography, in partnership with Creo and the World Photography Organisation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Now in their 20th edition, the Sony-sponsored awards honour photographers shaping contemporary visual culture and the technical skill required for an exceptional image.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">More than 430,000 images from more than 200 countries and territories were submitted for the 2026 competitions. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Decisive Moment, on show from August 15, will showcase photographers\u2019 ability to document, question, imagine and connect audiences with human stories, the natural world and global events. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Running concurrently at the centre will be New Eyes, an exhibition for emerging South African photographers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The exhibition runs from August 15 to January 22 at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insideoutfoundation.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.insideoutfoundation.co.za\/\">Roger Ballen Centre for Photography<\/a>, 2 Duncombe Road, Forest Town, Johannesburg. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Admission costs R50.
