\n\tIn the four years since deluxe versions of the Beatles<\/a>\u2018 \u201cRevolver\u201d were released, there hasn\u2019t been much debate over what stood at the top of most fans\u2019 wish lists: similar treatment given to \u201cRubber Soul,\u201d the album that preceded \u201cRevolver\u201d in the group\u2019s mid-1960s chronology. With just a little bit of delayed gratification, that hope is coming to fruition, as UMG and Apple Corps will be issuing remixes, expanded editions and boxed sets to commemorate the 1965 classic on Oct. 2.<\/p>\n

\n\tProducer Giles Martin<\/a> and engineer Sam Okell have again teamed up for a new set of stereo mixes of the original album tracks, plus a double-sided single of prominent non-album tracks from the same period, \u201cDay Tripper\u201d and \u201cWe Can Work It Out.\u201d Many superfans will rejoice in the fact that, unlike the 2022 \u201cRevolver\u201d releases, \u201cRubber Soul\u201d will have a Dolby Atmos remix from Martin and Okell released in physical format, although this time the Atmos version will come out as its own stand-alone release and not part of the CD boxed set.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for outtakes from the original sessions, there are 24 of them collected in the most expansive edition being released in October: \u201cRubber Soul: Special Edition Super Deluxe.\u201d That boxed set will include 68 tracks in total, whether fans pick it up in five-LP vinyl format or a four-disc CD collection.<\/p>\n

\n\tFans\u2019 interest will be particularly piqued by the inclusion of a previously unheard John Lennon composition \u2014 or \u201csong outline,\u201d as it is referred to in the promotional materials \u2014 named \u201cLittle Girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnyone looking for a taste of what previously unreleased material is included can get some immediate gratification in that regard, as \u201cMichelle (Take 1)\u201d was released concurrent with the official news Wednesday morning. Listen to it here:<\/p>\n

\n\tBeatles fans are well aware that different versions of the albums came out in the U.S. and U.K. up through 1966\u2019s \u201cRevolver,\u201d and those differences will be dutifully reflected in the new boxed set. Besides the new remixed stereo version of the British running order, the full set will also include the original U.S. Capitol version of the album, as well as the original mono mix.<\/p>\n

\n\tAn 88-page hardback book is included with both the LP and CD super deluxe editions. <\/p>\n

\n\tFor those not wanting or needing to shell out for the full boxed sets, there will be distillations available, in the form of two-LP and two-CD deluxe (as opposed to super deluxe) versions with a 16-track second disc of demos and sessions.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Blu-Ray edition will include the new remix in hi-res 96kHz\/24-bit audio as well as the new Dolby Atmos mix, plus four videos. It does not include any of the session outtakes.<\/p>\n

The Beatles\u2019 webstore offers D2C editions of the super deluxe set with two exclusive fold-out posters and two exclusive photo art cards not otherwise available at retail. Prices at the Beatles\u2019 store include $235.98 for the five-LP super deluxe edition; $159.98 for the four-CD super deluxe; $39.98 for the deluxe two-LP set; $24.98 for the deluxe two-CD version; $35.98 for the Blu Ray with hi-def and Dolby mixes; and $35.98 for the Zoetrope single LP.<\/p>\n
